26 Things for January/February

Ok - so this is a little different from the POTD (Photo of the Day) . . .

26 Things is a photo scavenger hunt. There are 26 words/phrases, and the idea is to take a photo of what that word makes you think of, or seeing a perfect fit for one of the words, grabbing the opportunity. You don't have to list them in any particular order. You can include the word on the photo in post processing so everyone knows what your vision of the word is. It's not about perfect techniques. It's not about finishing the list. It's about having fun, seeing things differently, and thinking outside the box. It's about stretching our creative visualization and interpretation. It's also about seeing what everyone else sees.

Another Challenge . . .

I've been so lax at following through on these. Of course, I take photos weekly and even usually daily . . . but forgot about the themes. UNTIL . . . I saw this challenge on the Two Peas Photography Message Board:

Where have I been? March 24: Faith Post

How interesting . . . I have an appointment on Friday to get my first tattoo . . . I've been debating if I really want to go through with this and have strayed from my first idea of a butterfly to simply the word FAITH on my wrist as a constant reminder for myself . . . then this is my topic for POTD this week?!! Hmmmmm . . .

I chose this photo of hyacinths just ready to bloom in my garden for the post today, because the spring flowers pushing through certainly suggest faith to me . . . they return faithfully every spring . . . symbolically the spring flowers represent the promise of clean starts and new beginnings . . .

Fun, fun topic . . .

Here is a before/after. The photo wasn't taken today, but I didn't have time to photograph today ;(

The original was shot late afternoon in a wooded area. I cropped it, adjusted curves in Photoshop, then added a color pop action and finally a texture to finish it.
